Even though it may seem like the year has just begun, it is not too early to start thinking about what kind of swimsuit you should wear this summer. Every year, top swimsuit designers from around the world will present their latest designs, and you will find many women wearing such swimsuits when you hit the beach. If you do not want to look out of date, check out this list of top swimsuit styles for 2012.

1) Romantic Ruffles - Swimsuits with romantic ruffles are cute yet sexy. They can come with subtle frills or extravagant cascades, and they can suit all kinds of body shape. Ruffles can make you look curvier, bustier, or slimmer, depending on where they are located.

2) Tie-Up - This year's hottest tie-ups are those with restraining lace-ups, statement straps, and gift-wrap-style ties.

Looking for petite swimwear is not a hard chore. It's the style and not the body frame that counts. Bikinis, swimwear cover-ups, and short torso swimwear are some of the options you might want to look into.

If you are kind of small compared to average women, looking for petite swimwear can be a problem as not a lot of clothing stores offer swimwear in petite sizes. This can be a headache and certainly may turn into a big problem if you don’t know where to look, since several stores do not have a wide variety particularly for seasonal clothing items like swimwear. But do you know that when it comes to swimwear, size doesn’t really matter? You just have to look for the right style of petite swimwear and your problem is over!

Sometimes, we wonder if we really need to go through all the trouble just to buy petite swimwear. Of course not! You have the option to just purchase a normal sized bikini. However, it is very important that you go for the right style and what else could be specializing in the petite style but petite clothing stores? 

First and foremost, when choosing swimwear, it is important to look for fabrics that will make your figure look sexier. Fabrics such as cotton, Terrycloth, Cotton gauze, Mesh, and spandex are great for petites. If you want to hide your flaws in your figure, you can add some cover-up swimwear. One more thing, for petite sizes, it is important to go for well fitted swim suit. Thus, if you are looking into a normal swimwear, get one size smaller to make sure it doesn’t look loose on you. 

When shopping for swimwear, you should be aware that swimsuits for petites are not cheaper than swimsuits of regular sizes. Thus, you should not settle for less especially if the one that costs a little more would make you look great and feel good! 

If you prefer to wear bikini swimwear, there are some exceptions to the rules. If the bikini you bought has a longer top, usually you have to hem it. It is a great fashion idea to go for bra style swimwear like a two-piece type. However, if you prefer one-piece swimwear, then you should remember the first point. Make sure that the fabric used is elastic so that it will stretch on your covered body area. If a regular swimsuit does not fit properly, a torso swimsuit is a good option. 

Now, where can you buy swimwear for petite women like you? That's not a problem! As mentioned, you can go to a normal swimwear shop or better yet, shop at petite women’s clothing store. In summer season, these stores surely have something for you. You can certainly choose from a wide selection of petite swimsuits such as cover-ups, bikinis, and even swimwear accessories like loose shirts, robes, summer dresses, sarongs, and a lot more!

Tips for Choosing a Bikini

It may still be cool out now in many regions, but it will be warmer very soon, and if you are like many people, you can’t wait to hit the beach. Quite possibly the next thing that comes to mind is a sense of panic as you run around thinking about trying on bikinis, tankinis or even just a more modest two piece swimsuit. You feel that it is time to start seriously getting fit, yet choosing the right swimsuit is just as important.

When shopping for a bikini, make sure that the bottom fits well. This may sound like a rather obvious statement, but many people don’t really see that. A woman may be a size 6 but there is still the possibility of those dreadful love handles. It is not a pretty sight but it is true of even those who are fit. Do not let the desire to diet yourself down to a size 4 ruin how you actually fill out your swimwear bikini.

As frustrating as it is, finding the bikini with the perfect top for you is vital. If you have a smaller bust and want to give the illusion of having fuller breasts, then try one of the bikinis with a bandeau top. Also choose textured and bright colors to further create the illusion of a larger chest.

Of course, if you have the opposite problem, then an ample chest looks really good in a halter style top. Not only does it look good but with a wide strapped halter top you have the advantage of being able to tighten and lift at the same time. An added bonus to this sexy bikini style is the fact that you won’t have to worry about it coming off every time you dive into the water. Remember, if you are wearing bikini swimwear that you feel good about and are comfortable in, then you may feel a little better about it when you are throwing your near naked body out there for the world to see. It also helps if you take a good friend with you when trying on bathing suits as they are more likely to be honest in their opinion.

Some women feel that they have the legs of a dachshund, meaning that they are short. If that is the case with you, then you will want to look for the bikini bottom that has a higher cut on the leg. You want to be sure to stay away from the bikinis that have the low-cut, boy shorts style, as it will make the legs appear shorter. If you are really lucky, then you may be able to find the very rare low-rise/hi-cut style. If you do, then be sure to stock up on them.

 My favorite swimsuit model is Miranda Kerr, an Australian model best known as one of the Victoria's Secret Angels since summer 2007.   She is the first Australian to participate in the Victoria's Secret campaign and also represents Australian fashion chain David Jones. Miranda Kerr began modeling in the fashion industry when she was 13, starting at Chaay's Modelling Agency, and soon after winning a 1997 Australian nationwide model search hosted by Dolly magazine and Impulse fragrances.

She is married to actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she has a son, Flynn.  Miranda Kerr is also the owner of Kora Organics which offers a line of organic skin care products personally created by Miranda Kerr.

How to Stand Out at the Beach This Summer

In the summer time, people frequent the beaches. It is very easy to get noticed at the beach if you just take a little time to wear something that stands out. A majority of people will wear bikinis that are similar to each other. If you want to get noticed at the beaches this summer, take some of these fashion design tips to help you.


Wear bold stripes.

Bold stripe bikinis are slowly coming back into fashion, however, a lot of people are still not wearing this style.

Because of this, it is really easy to stand out while wearing bold stripes. Finding this style of swimwear should not be difficult.

Many high-end department stores carries this style, and because it is not a highly demanded item, it should be fairly inexpensive.




Wear polka dots.

Just like the bold stripes, polka dots are also a style that is coming back.

It is hard to stand out if you are wearing small polka dot bikinis, so wear big and bold polka dots.

There are a lot of small polka dot styles already being worn, but not many people are seen with the big dots.







Wear retro designs

The 60's and 70's style are the main trend for this year.

Make sure that your swimwear reflect that as well. It may not seem sexy to wear such styles, but it is the fashion this year and it is a sure way to get noticed.

You could also wear some of the 80's style too. 80's retro has been in fashion for a few years now and it does not look like its going anywhere soon.







Wear matching sunglasses

If you are going to wear a certain style of swimwear, make sure that your sunglasses match.

There is no easier way to stand out than wearing matching sunglasses. If you are wearing polka dot swimwear, make sure your glasses match. The same goes for the bold stripes and retro style.

When it comes to the 60's and 70's style, try wearing cat eye sunglasses, or round lenses sunglasses. These were dominant styles in the 60's and 70's.

   I always had this fondness for the glamorous and beautiful swimsuit calendar girls in their sexy swimsuits showing off their gorgeous and perfect sexy bodies, whether it was the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Calendar, or those offered by Penthouse Magazine and other publishers, I drooled and dreamed of the hot babes in swimsuits, wishing I could be with such beautiful women, but, not only did I love these beautiful girls in swimsuits, I had a fascination with the swimwear itself, the various cuts that showed off beautiful long legs, perfect round breasts, gloriously firm buttocks, lean and fit stomachs and so much more, and my, all the vibrant colors and designs, and oooh the smooth, soft and silky fabrics and I envied these flawless beauties for having the privilege and ability to wear such a wonderful and sexy little thing, because I was born a boy and I envied these gorgeous girls, wishing I could of been any one of them.

Although I did have the pleasure of wearing my younger sister's swimwear among everything else I could find to become the girl I was inside, it wasn't until later on in my teens that I began to outwardly express to others my gender identity as female, but thanks to verbal, mental and physical abuse, bullying and societal expectations forced upon me by the educational institutions, parents and peers, I was forced into denial and repression and into the closet where I could only express my feminine side in secret.

Jump ahead to the present, and finally I'm free to be my true self, the woman I always dreamed of being, and although only beginning transition to a female body, I am happy and accepting of who I am.. More than anything, I love being the woman I am, and I love being able to wear sexy swimsuits and always look forward to a day at the beach, even more so than I had in the past, because I feel so sexy in a swimsuit and just love them... so much so that I'm hoping to be releasing my own 2012 swimsuit calendar later this year, featuring 12 months of me in sexy swimsuits I love, because I always dreamed of being a model and I love being in sexy photos...  I'm so excited and can't wait for summer... Look for my very own swimsuit calender to be released sometime in August.
